The Sounds - No One Sleeps When I'm Awake (VIKING Remix)

This post can perhaps best be described as a tale of two songs: originating as a moderately paced, more focused Rock piece which ultimately underwent a genius transformation into a driving, melodic piece of Techno/House. While this isn't one you'll likely ever hear on the radio, it certainly is worthy of your consideration. Here, VIKING has successfully forged the often difficult marriage between intricate musicality and a cavalier sense of fun throughout the majority of this remix. As such, to really appreciate just how different these two songs are, I've posted them both here...enjoy!

Adam Lambert - "For Your Entertainment" (My First Post!)

For my inagural post (wooo!), I decided to go with something a little outside the realm of what I usually listen to. I just found this track a couple days ago and discovered it still hasn't even hit iTunes yet. As a primarily hip-hop and electronic fan, I was really surprised how well I was able to connect with this song right off the bat. If you haven't already heard it, this is a significant departure from Lambert's first single, "Time For Miracles"--the overtones of which emanated American Idol's lingering aire of 'wholesomeness' virtually any way you looked at it. "For Your Entertainment," however, appears to mark Lambert's official debut as a (marginally) independent artist with a clear musical vision of his own. Creative, original, and driven by its pulsating Retro/Glam shuffle-beat, FYE seems to have all the elements necessary to make a run toward the top of the charts. It may not be what you're used to, but don't sleep on this one just yet!

Here's Dashelbsta's video for the song:

What do you think--Love it, or Loathe it?
